Activities
Toddler Talk - We are a mothers & toddlers support group. Every Friday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Coyote House.
Growing as parents we discuss:
- Child development by age.
- Feeding by age.
- Key ideas for healthy eating
- Budgeting for a healthy meal.
- Why toddlers behave the way they do.
- Positive discipline.
Healthy Harvest Boxes - The Ooknakane Friendship Centre membership is able to partake in our monthly Healthy Harvest Box program. The box is filled with fruits and vegetables. The cost is $8.00 and there is only one bin allowed per family. This is on a first come first serve basis as we have a limit on the number of boxes that we provide, and you must be a member to participate in this program.
Youth Anti-Drug Strategy (funded by Health Canada) - This program is designed to create awareness on the harmful effects of illicit drugs, the Ooknakane Friendship Centre has taken a holistic approach to creating and implementing this program. Medicine Wheel Presentations are delivered in a number of the schools in Penticton, as well as nutritional cooking programs and the Rn8tive voice youth leadership program (developed by the Okanagan Nation Alliance) which are currently running out of OFC’s Coyote House building.
